Looking at the million stars above me, wondering how far they all are, how wide this universe is, there's only one way this brain can go,
"how on earth is the little insignificant me is supposed to make a change in this world?".
There were some points in my life when I dreamed to be inspiring. Inspiring enough to be heard by millions, inspiring enough for thousands of people to follow me on social media, and inspiring enough for hundreds of people to read my blog posts. The dream to inspire was based on the hope that my life could mean something, could bring a change, could make this world just a little bit better.
But then there were moments like these. When I realised that no matter how "inspiring" or not I am, it's kind of making zero difference in this world. I mean who are we?
Just a speck of dust within the galaxy says Adam Levine's lost stars.
How impactful should one be to change the world? Being a president? Being a miss universe? Being the first man to land on sun? Because if that's what it takes I'm pretty dang sure that with my whole life invested, I will never be impactful.
Then again as I write this idea down, it came to me that perhaps I was wrong.
I believe that being inspiring is not equivalent to being famous.
We don't have to be heard by the whole world for our life to mean something.
I think that being a change starts with the littlest most simple things.
Leading a life that allows our closest circle to be inspired also counts.
It doesn't matter if one inspired another one or another thousand, all life's are great and precious enough to inspire others if lived well.
and of course,
It starts with making someone's day a bit better by saying sincere nice things to them.
It starts by helping lost strangers we meet on the street.
It starts by sparking the idea on a close friend's heart on how to be a better girlfriend or a better daughter or even a better citizen.
It starts with being there for those who need you the most may it be only to give shoulders for their place to cry on or even simply just to sit there letting them know that you hear them.
It starts with making parents, grandparents, and siblings proud of how you've given the best shot at something.
It starts with refusing to use plastic bags and saving the water.
It simply starts with doing our really best in every single routines we do everyday.
and maybe it doesn't require the world to know someone to say that their life has been meaningful. And so, having one or two persons that we've encountered in this short time we have on earth saying that we've changed their life or have inspired them is enough.
Despite it all, one thing is for sure, it all starts with you and I-group of people who are too small to even be considered in this vast universe-to join hand in hand in the hope.
The hope to fight for making this world a better place for everyone.
So if you're one of those people, please do keep up with the good fight and don't ever give up. The world needs people like you.
Ones who's making little changes daily for a better world.
Sincerely,
the girl who's also hoping to make a difference in this world
Great piece of writing!
