Small yet Powerful

The alarm that woke me up earlier this morning accompanied with a knock on my bedroom door suddenly put a thought in my head.
Despite the comfort of my blanket and cool air conditioned air, I decided against my sheer will and sit up straight and get the day moving.
Nevertheless, here's whats on my mind today.

As we start our day, going all over the same old routines and obligations of the day, have you ever stop to think about how one life can touch other in the midst of all the busyness?
There are so many small yet powerful things that we can do today - all of which affect others.
Friends and even strangers.

A little smile brightens up your roommate's busy day.
A simple honest compliment may cheer a friend who are currently dealing with anxiety.
A kind gesture of standing up and offering a seat in a bus for an old lady can remind her that there are still kindness in this world.
A short hello chat to a long lost friend asking how they're doing help them remember that their life matters.
A humble gesture of sharing snacks to a friend let them know that you are grateful for their presence.
A willingness to whole-heartedly give 10 minutes to listen to someone without even offering a solid answer or solution really do can ease their pain.

Therefore dear friends,
I encourage you to be aware of all the small actions you can do today.
Offering a hand to help, setting up example of saving the energy, cleaning up after your own mess, taking responsibility over your mistakes, and so many more small things we can do.

Yes these actions are small.
Yes these actions are easy to do.
but hey,
Yes these actions are powerful.
Yes they can slightly light up this world.

  3. I imagine the author giggles and beamed a radiant smile while making this particular piece, considering the timeframe where her romantic relationship just have been officially establishef.

Things Taken For Granted

"The things we take for granted are the things we long for the most when they're gone" After bringing up the idea to my instagram story, I learnt from friends' kind responses that most of us have that little things that we have been taking for granted in this life. Things that worth so much more than we realise but we kind of forget just because we got them by grace, we got them already, and we got them without sacrificing much of ourselves. Little do we know, these things we take for granted, they are not going to be there forever and always and that is exactly why I wish for us all to take a moment to embrace it all and give these things more credit that we gave them for these things deserves so much more than this. Life. How often is it we forget that each day when we are able to open up our eyes to the bright sunlight is a grace in itself. It doesn't matter how hard, how miserable, how boring, how lonely you might feel your days currently are, the very b...

We Are Who We Are

"We are who we are,” A line of one of my current ongoing tv series good doctor that suddenly become a jolt of inspiration to reflect, to write once again. We are who we are and indeed we are all different. One very introvert and need her own space, one never runs out of the so called social battery. One likes to cook and bake and paint, one, on the other hand, likes to do math and statistic and accounting. One is very practical and energy conscious, the other one very in the moment and living life to the fullest. These differences, it sometimes feel like the barrier of us getting along. It sometimes feel like with each differences, the further away we become from creating a long-lasting friendship filled with “unconditional” love. Sometimes too, these differences create a heavy burden of expectation. Expectation to be slightly less different, expectation to change who you are for the sake of being “belong” in a group of people, expectation to di...

Making a Difference (?)

Looking at the million stars above me, wondering how far they all are, how wide this universe is, there's only one way this brain can go, "how on earth is the little insignificant me is supposed to make a change in this world?". There were some points in my life when I dreamed to be inspiring. Inspiring enough to be heard by millions, inspiring enough for thousands of people to follow me on social media, and inspiring enough for hundreds of people to read my blog posts. The dream to inspire was based on the hope that my life could mean something, could bring a change, could make this world just a little bit better. But then there were moments like these. When I realised that no matter how "inspiring" or not I am, it's kind of making zero difference in this world. I mean who are we? Just a speck of dust within the galaxy says Adam Levine's lost stars. How impactful should one be to change the world? Being a president? Being a miss universe? Being...
