People say you reap what you sow
Cheated with someone, you'll get cheated
Hurt someone and you'll get hurt
Disappoint someone and someone else will surely come disappoint you
But sometimes, that's not always the case, isn't it?
There are people who do nothing but goodness to other but got treated unfairly.
There are people who messed with everyone's life yet they get to live surrounded by fortune.
But then again, who are we to claim the right in deciding what's fair and what's not.
Claiming that a thing is not fair or that someone doesn't deserve some grace is as if we're playing God, don't you think?
Still though, I bet like me, some of you can't help yourself from wondering from time to time about what we can really do to change a situation around.
Is it all according to our work or is it all just up to fate.
Believing that fate just exist doesn't really sound fair, don't you think?
Yet here I am back to my first statement that I am in no position to define what fair is.
Well perhaps I just don't know and cannot know.
Maybe its the several news coming from my beloved nation Indonesia simultaneously.
Having the courtesy of being the host of a huge event Asian Games - which was a huge success by the way - yet not long after that, got destructed by tsunami that killed thousands of people.
Not to mention the terror bombing that took place in my hometown back in May which was a direct attack to a church. A supposedly holy place where people should be able to find peace in worshipping their God.
And also the earthquake, even if small, quick, and harmless, still triggered some fear earlier today in the morning and took several lives.
Is there anything we can do at all?
At times the future seems so far and so unpredictable it's terrifying.
Sometimes we are reminded that us, mere human beings, doesn't have any power over our health and life - and our loved ones'.
Every so often, we got into a situation that we'd rather never experience in our short life.
Periodically, we faced failure, even when we've worked and prepared our best.
and the list goes on.
Have a little faith, this little heart of mine reminded me.
Trust in your God for sometimes, there are things that us, humans couldn't possibly understand.
Sometimes there are things that He let happened for He works in any situation to bring goodness.
Sometimes, He let us experienced those thing to see how far and how strong we've become.
For all I know, there's really nothing I can do other than doing my best in everything and just letting the divine power do the rest - trusting Him with all I am for I know I can't do it on my own.
If He has led us this far, providing us with each and every little needs we've experienced and never failing to keep His promise,
the same God also has our future secured.
So to all of you reading,
have a little faith.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
