Have you
ever had those days when you just don’t feel like getting up from the bed,
going out from your house, meeting all those people out there?
May it be
for the fear of being asked “what’s wrong” or even the seemingly simple
question of “how are you?”
Maybe, the
question is so simple yet the answer is impossible to comprehend.
How do you
explain in words the feeling of emptiness?
Not disappointed, not sad, not happy, and definitely not in the mood of
explaining yourself.
Often when
that’s the case, we choose to answer “I’m fine” with the best effort of faking
a smile just to stop them from asking.
Because
they simply won’t understand.
Worse, if we start to explain, then they will
just stay being clueless and offer cliché responds that doesn’t make anything better.
So we
smile, we laugh, we let ourselves be carried away in the middle of nonsense
conversation and jokes, hoping that when we get alone all over again, the emptiness has gone away.
Does it
mean that we are all liars then?
